Fleece Artist Silk Merino Roving

Nymph

Fleece Artist’s Silk Merino Roving (known as Sliver in the spinning industry) is back!  After being discontinued for some long while, the mill has resurrected it!  Fleece Artist’s dyers have clad these beautiful clouds of goodness in colors worthy of your spinning or thrumming.  We have added 15 new colors to our offerings, in quantities abundant enough to make every fiber-lover rejoice, here.

Hand Maiden Bess

Cezanne

We have been looking forward to this moment for some time – Bess is a beautiful, exciting new sports weight yarn that has just about everything.  It is soft enough for a baby or your own sensitive skin; it takes color with a deep resonance that calls you back again and again for “just one more look”; and, it is an Earth-friendly machine washable yarn.  With 12% Cashmere and 88% merino wool, Bess has been treated with the Bestwash process which eliminates the chlorine that is usually used to create superwashed yarns.  The Bestwash process has an added advantage in that it keeps the natural fibers a bit more breathable, which means that anything you knit in Bess will be just that much more comfortable to wear.  Altogether, Bess is one great yarn with infinite possibilities – see it here.

Ilga Leja's Brickwork Scarf in Hand Maiden Bess

Ilga Leja's Brickwork Scarf in Hand Maiden Bess

Bess also gave us the opportunity to bring back one of our (and your!) favorite designs from a few years back: Ilga Leja’s Brickwork Scarf.  Originally, we created a kit in Cashlana, a cashmere/wool blend that everyone loved for it’s soft, drapey hand.  Cashlana was eventually discontinued by the mill and the Brickwork Scarf became a fond memory.  It was so much fun to discover that not only is the fiber content of Bess very similar (actually, a bit better – more cashmere) to Cashlana, but it is an identical weight and just perfect for more Brickwork scarves.  And so, we welcome back an old friend – find your scarf to build on here.

Silk Maiden makes it shimmer with delight.  As autumn begins to arrive in the Northern Hemisphere, Summer in the City is the perfect quick and easy knit, here.

Fleece Artist Saldanha - Limited Edition

Seashore

We thought all the Saldanha was gone – that’s what Fleece Artist thought, too.  Then about 3 weeks ago, I was talking to Kathryn and mentioned how much we had loved Saldanha and how sad we were to see it go.  This beautiful lace weight yarn was so superb that all we could do was sigh as the supply dwindled to nothing.  And then Kathryn said, “Well, it happens that a couple of days ago we found a whole case of it behind cases of other yarn in our warehouse.  We had no idea it was there.”  I immediately bought it all and ordered up colorways that we knew you loved and a few more that we hadn’t tried yet.  About half that order has arrived!!! And it’s here for you to carress once again!  Keep watching as the rest arrives and order what you want as soon as you see it.  We all know that it won’t last very long and this time there will truly be no more when the last skein leaves.
