We’re moving along with the incoming 125g skeins – our latest arrival is Curlylocks.  Curlylocks is a supremely sensual, loopy Aran weight bouclé – it is soft and warm to the touch, with a beckoning texture; its mohair captures Fleece Artist’s color magic with a radiance that practically glistens. Add wool for warmth and nylon for strength, and Curlylocks becomes a first choice for enfolding knitting, whether you use it alone or strand it with a smooth yarn for extra texture and effect. It’s been a while since we’ve received new renditions of Cashmere 4-ply, but now that Hand Maiden has more on hand we are the happy beneficiaries! The 8 newly arrived colors are glowing with a muted softness that only enhances the soft beauty of the cashmere itself.  Remember, this is the cashmere in which we have yet to find a guard hair! “Soft” is an understatement.  See it here.

If I were forced to choose a single yarn to take to that fabled desert island where it would be all I could knit for the rest of my days (under the single palm tree that is always on such islands), it would be BFL Aran (my desert isle has a temperate climate).  This is one of those yarns that I would frankly like to have a room full of, so that I could open the door and jump into it like I used to do with raked leaves as a child.  It is soft, strong, wonderful to have running through your fingers, even better to wear out into the cold that it will keep at arms length from you, because it is also very, very warm. To get our Designer Sets ideas rolling, we called upon two of the world’s sock-knitting greats: Cat Bordhi and Nancy Bush.  Both of them have opened doors for thousands of knitters, and each has a path that is distinctively her own and wonderful.
