These kits now sport new possibilities ~
A while back, Fleece Artist produced a special kit for us. They stranded Merino 2/6 (their beloved sock yarn) with a special run of Angel Hair (Hand Maiden’s Kid Mohair) and created a sock pattern to match it. It was so popular, and knitters found so many other wonderful ways to use it that Kathryn commissioned a yarn to be spun that would eliminate the need to strand two yarns while having the same softness and strength. The result is Merino Angel and it is wonderful. The nylon makes it strong enough for cozy winter socks; the merino and kid combine into a soft cloud of warm embrace. It almost feels like angora, it is that luxuriously soft. We predict Merino Angel will become one of Fleece Artist’s staple yarns – something no one wants to be without. Discover the new kid (and merino!) on the block, here.
Premium wool and Seacell, anyone? It occurs to us, up here in the persistently gray and wet Pacific Northwest, that this may be one of the best fiber combinations for multi-season wear. It will keep you warm, but not too warm, on chilly summer evenings and enfold you in coziness as the days shorten and serious cold weather looms. Great Big Sea is also delightfully beautiful, offering a shimmering drape in a DK weight. What’s not to love, here?
Always a welcome sight, we now have even more Woolie Silk 3-ply, one of the loveliest, most versatile yarns we carry. Really, it can do just about anything well – and it is so soft, so strong and so filled with drapey beauty that it’s not at all surprising that it is one of the most beloved yarns ever. Discover it for yourself here.
