Sangria
A while back, Fleece Artist produced a special kit for us. They stranded Merino 2/6 (their beloved sock yarn) with a special run of Angel Hair (Hand Maiden’s Kid Mohair) and created a sock pattern to match it. It was so popular, and knitters found so many other wonderful ways to use it that Kathryn commissioned a yarn to be spun that would eliminate the need to strand two yarns while having the same softness and strength. The result is Merino Angel and it is wonderful. The nylon makes it strong enough for cozy winter socks; the merino and kid combine into a soft cloud of warm embrace. It almost feels like angora, it is that luxuriously soft. We predict Merino Angel will become one of Fleece Artist’s staple yarns – something no one wants to be without. We are very happy to announce the arrival of Fleece Artist Blue Face Leicester 2/8 in 125g skeins. This will make your knitting dollar much more efficient, and we hope these smaller skeins will inspire even more knitters to discover this amazing 100% BFL wool, truly the best there is. BFL 2/8 is a fingering weight wool that is stronger and softer than merino, and such a delight to touch that many knitters come back to it again and again as their favorite fiber. Ocean
A bit more Silk Twist has come through our door, reminding us again why we all love it so much. In case Silk Twist is new to you, it is a soft and strong fingering weight 3-ply yarn with a zippy difference: 2 of the plies are of soft long-staple wool, the 3rd ply is of fine silk. When dyed, the silk emerges as a flashing highlight of color against the deeper colors of the wool, adding an elegant twinkle to your fabric. Silk Twist is truly one of the great yarns, here.
